Five decades ago, Jimi Hendrix blew the minds of fans at the Monterey Pop Festival with an unforgettable set that ended with him setting fire to his hand-painted Stratocaster, which now lives only in photos and film. Today, Fender commemorates the 50th Anniversary of this momentous performance with the Limited Edition Monterey Stratocaster.

From faithful reproductions of classic axes of the past to fully tweaked customs made to an individual’s personal specs, few instruments command the level of respect afforded Fender Custom Shop models.
There are degrees of Fender Custom Shop models: Stock Team-built and Team-built Custom. A select few instruments are handbuilt by the Master Luthiers, the same luthiers that build custom instruments for the likes of Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Merle Haggard. 5. Fender Stratocaster – Jeff Beck
When you’re Jeff Beck, you can play anything you want. And, chances are, you’re not Jeff Beck… unless you actually ARE Jeff Beck, and you happen to be reading this. In that case, we’re honored to show off your awesome axe of choice: the Fender Custom Shop Jeff Beck Signature Stratocaster.
See, Jeff Beck plays a particular Strat that’s loaded with three ceramic Noiseless pickups, an ultra-smooth LSR roller nut (makes that trem bridge even better), and a very cool neck. In fact, the neck has a thinner-than-normal “C”-shaped carve you’ll love (again, If you’re actually JB, then you already know this). Oh, and the neck heel on the Jeff Beck Signature Stratocaster is contoured, so you can reach those upper frets with absolute ease. Whether you’re actually Jeff Beck or just want to play his amazing guitar, you’ll agree that the Fender Custom Shop guys definitely got this one right.
